James M. Myers
As President of Regency Companies, James Myers serves to carry out his father's vision set forth 20 years ago. The foundation of this vision is based on the belief that people of all lifestyles should be able to experience the benefits of home ownership.
James was raised in the family business, giving him exposure and hands-on training in every aspect of his family's businesses. He has been in or around residential construction his entire life. Once he came to work for Regency Builders, James had the opportunity to take part in nearly all facets of the business. His involvement in construction, management, leasing, and accounting has offered James a unique insight and valuable knowledge, allowing him to grow into his current position today as president of Regency Companies.
Serving as president, and highly involved with its affiliated entities, James oversees the development and business management of all of Regency's land, homes, commercial property, and property management. He combines his financing and development knowledge to analyze the market and provide direction on building, buying, selling and leasing property. James is highly active in the governmental aspects of investments that are approved and legislation that benefits the building and land development industry.
James understands the importance of building strong communities. For that reason, James is actively involved in local, community-based organizations. He serves on the different boards for the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Choose Des Moines Communities, the Iowa Health Foundation Board, and is highly involved with CHARACTER COUNTS! In addition, James is on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Games and is a member of the Cabinet for Construction for the future Michael R. Myers hospital in West Des Moines. He has served as the past chair for the Developers Council for which he still remains actively involved. James is also currently on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Des Moines, keeping Regency Homes active with its designation in the Master Builders Program.
An organization that is especially close to James' heart is the Muscular Dystrophy Association. James, his family, and the Regency Companies work diligently throughout the year putting on company events and fundraisers to raise money and awareness in the community for this organization.
James is an Iowa State University graduate, receiving his degree in Landscape/Horticulture with a minor in design and an emphasis in community and regional planning. James and his wife Robin have been married for over ten years and have two children - AJ, and Abbey. During time away from the office, James enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children's activities.
